NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Neurology - The mind and how we think.

Programming - How we sequence our actions to achieve our goals.

There have been many explanations of NLP but there can never be one definition.

Richard Bandler describes NLP as an attitude and a methodology, which leave behind a trail of techniques.It's about how you experience the world and your place within it, how you do what you do and how you create your own reality.

It enables you to change and make the differences in your life you need to progress. It's also about knowing what specifically you want to achieve and taking action to go toward that goal with the flexibility to try new ideas and approaches.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology that investigates the factors that create happiness.

Developed by Martin Seligman it identifies your strengths and virtues which we can use to guide you toward a state of mind known as "Flow States".

These flow states are more commonly expressed in sport as being in "The Zone".

You've probably experienced Flow when you've been fully immersed in your sport.

Those times when you're totally focussed and in control and success almost seems effortless.

Within Positive Psychology there are many tools that I can teach you to be able to enter

these Flow states more and more easily and when you want to.

We can also discover your signature strengths and virtues which are a vital component to your experiencing your sport positively.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy

This approach is significantly different from other forms of hypnotherapy in that it allows you to find your own solutions which can enable you to create the outcomes you want within your sport.

It's about empowering you and giving you the techniques and tools to use whenever you need to. We may use trance states to identify any negative thought patterns that may be present. These states are naturally occurring states just like day dreaming that we go in and out of all day long.

Most people have concerns about what Hypnosis is like and what to expect. Well your experience might be different to what you think. While in trance you can stay in complete control and you'll be totally aware of what's going on. Unlike the impression stage Hypnosis gives, you cannot be made to do anything you don't want to do and it won't change things that you don't want to change about yourself.

During trance we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind which is the part of the mind that can sometimes automatically control our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

While in these states we can give your unconscious suggestions that can enable you to perform better within your game.
