MindWise Innovations’ Suicide Prevention Program for College Students Receives Brandon Hall Group Gold Award

Dedham MA – MindWise Innovations, a service of the non-profit Riverside Community Care, is proud to announce that our innovative new suicide prevention program for college students, MindWise on Campus (now SOS for Higher Ed), has received a prestigious Brandon Hall Group Gold Award for Excellence in the Learning and Development category. This award marks the third Brandon Hall Group Award Win for Mindwise Innovations over the past three years.

MindWise on Campus is a groundbreaking new offering for college students, designed in partnership with online learning innovator Kick Learning. College students may experience anxiety, depression, and stress due as they navigate new life situations. Using videos of real students sharing their stories and interactive feedback throughout the course, MindWise on Campus empowers college students to recognize when challenging feelings begin to look like signs of suicidal thinking. The course gives them tangible steps to navigate the situation and connect with help if they notice those signs in themselves or a friend.

“We designed this course with two learning styles in mind. The course can be taken by individual students or delivered by students to their peers through on-campus groups like Greek life organizations or athletic teams,” said Meghan Diamon, Program Director of Suicide Education for MindWise. “Having multiple pathways for students to get this important information makes the program perfectly suited for fitting into the busy lives of college students.”

Entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts, and executives based upon these criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits.

“Excellence Award winners distinguish themselves through their growing understanding that all the functions of HCM are integrated and must work together to move businesses forward,” said Brandon Hall Group Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cooke, leader of the HCM Excellence Awards program.
