Privacy Policy

Effective Date: This Privacy Policy Agreement was last updated on March 7, 2019.

This Privacy Policy constitutes a binding legal agreement between you and MindWise Innovations, a service of Riverside Community Care, Inc. (“MindWise”), governing your access to and use of the website located at https://www.mindwise.org/ and the screening programs, features and functionalities available therein (the “Site”).  This Privacy Policy describes the personal information that we may collect from you when you access or use the Site, and how we may use that information.  By accessing and using the Site by any means (PC, mobile or other device), you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as specified in this Privacy Policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.  By accessing and using the Site, you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, you should immediately cease all use of the Site.

  1. What information is collected by MindWise and how is it used?

MindWise is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information to the extent possible, subject to applicable state and federal law. Other than as required by laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information, or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access, personal information is not actively shared. In particular, we do not distribute or sell personal information collected on our web servers.

We do not collect any protected health information and we are committed to protecting your personal privacy.  We do not require collection of any information about you that allows us or our sponsors (such as employers, health care companies, or universities) to identify you. Instead, we only collect basic demographic information about each user, such as their age, gender and marital status. This information does not allow us to identify you as an individual.

We collect this information to allow us to provide our sponsors with general, aggregated reports about the people using our site. These reports allow our sponsors to create services more targeted to the needs of their constituents. For example, we provide our sponsors with the percentage of men and women using our site.

When you complete a screening, we collect the responses to each question. We save these responses in order to provide you with the results of the test and to create the aggregated reports provided to our sponsors.

  1. Does the Site use cookies, clear GIFs or log files?

Our Site does not use clear GIFs (also known as ‘pixel tags’ or ‘web beacons’). We do use cookies to improve your browsing experience and enable certain features or functionality.

We also measure statistics about visitors to the Site and their usage (e.g., where they came from, what pages they visit and what browser they are using). Knowing how our Site is being used means we can improve our users’ experience in the future. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes or pass user data to any other organization.

We do not collect information about our users through log files. The company to which we outsource our web hosting function may collect the domains previously viewed by our visitors, but MindWise does not obtain or share this information with any other entity.

  1. What security protections are in place on the Site?

MindWise has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to secure your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access and ensure the appropriate use of information, MindWise has put into place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures that safeguard and secure our Site.

  1. What policies apply to links out to third-party websites?

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include, offer or link to third-party products or services on our Site. These third-party websites may have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content, activities and data collection and use practices of these linked websites. We encourage you to carefully review the privacy policies of the websites you visit.

  1. How can I contact MindWise with questions or comments about privacy issues?

If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact our privacy coordinator via e-mail at screening@mindwise.org or on the telephone at 781-239-0071.

  1. Children’s Privacy

The Site is designed to provide information and services for adults.  The Site is not designed to attract minors, in particular children under the age of 13.  MindWise does not market to or knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.  Children should always receive permission from their parents before sending any information about themselves (such as their names, email addresses, and phone numbers) to anyone over the Internet.

  1. Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right, at any time, to revise, amend, modify or delete portions of this Privacy Policy without prior notice. Modifications shall become effective immediately upon being posted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after amendments are posted constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of this Privacy Policy and its revisions, amendments, modifications or deletions.
