MindWise InnovationsSuicide Prevention Program for K-12 Staff Receives Brandon Hall Group Gold Award

Dedham MA – MindWise Innovations, a service of Riverside Community Care, is proud to announce that our suicide prevention program for K-12 staff has received a prestigious Brandon Hall Group Gold Award for Excellence in the Best Advance in Custom Content category.

Our award-winning program, SOS for School Staff, is a self-guided, online professional development course that uses video and interactive tools to teach adults how to recognize warning signs for suicide, engage in caring conversations, and keep a student safe while connecting them to qualified school staff. Developed with our valued partner Kick Learning, SOS for School Staff gives every adult the skills to identify and support students at risk.

“We want to empower those trusted adults at school to feel confident in the steps they need to take when concerned about a student,” said Meghan Diamon, Program Director of Suicide Education for MindWise. “93% of K-12 staff feel more prepared to recognize signs of suicide in a student after completing the self-guided, online version of SOS for School Staff.”

Entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts, and executives based upon these criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits.

“Excellence Award winners distinguish themselves through their growing understanding that all the functions of HCM are integrated and must work together to move businesses forward,” said Brandon Hall Group Chief Operating Officer Rachel Cooke, leader of the HCM Excellence Awards program.

*Please note that SOS for School Staff was previously named ACT for School Staff: Responding to Suicide Risk in Students and won the Brandon Hall Group Award under that name.
